Welcome to Inktober 2020!
Every day, I’ll add my illustration of the daily prompt. All illustrations will be made into patterns or designs available for purchase at the following sites:
Inktober Day 1 is Fish! I created a little repeat pattern featuring some funny finny fish friends. Check it out on my RedBubble or Society6 stores!
Inktober Day 2 is Wisp! The first thing I thought of was the character Wisp from Animal Crossing, so I made my own little wisps based on him.
Inktober Day 3 is Bulky! I made a polka dot repeat pattern of our neighbor’s bulky black cat, who loves to visit our yard.
Inktober Day 4 is Radio! Here’s an inky pattern with a lot of older radio types.
Inktober Day 5 is Blade! I illustrated some American Traditional knives and made a cool repeat pattern for this prompt.
Inktober Day 6 is Rodent! I wanted to draw some rats that were similar to my lithography print: Rats!
Inktober Day 7 is Fancy! With a week of Inktober down, I think it’s time to celebrate with a glass of wine!
Inktober Day 8 is Teeth, which kind of grossed me out.
Inktober Day 9 is Throw! It’s time for a game of ghost ball! Will the ball just go through them though?
Inktober Day 10 is Hope! I drew a Star of Bethlehem pattern because those flowers signify hope!
Inktober Day 11 is Disgusting, and I instantly thought of spiders! Now, I wanted to make the pattern something that could be worn by children and would look like a sweet Halloween pattern, but don’t be fooled!
Day 12 of Inktober is Slippery, so I drew a fistful of frogs!
Inktober Day 13 is Dune, which allowed me to draw a lot of flowers that grow in Dune areas. I remember going out to Tybee Island and seeing bright pink flowers and being so amazed that plants could root into the sand and thrive.
Inktober Day 14 is Armor. I immediately thought of beetles, who have shiny and beautiful armor.
Inktober Day 15 is Outpost! This is your last call to grab any supplies you need. After this outpost, there’s nothing but wilderness!
Inktober Day 16 is Rocket, and I was really excited to try this prompt in a style made and mastered by one of my favorite artists, Mattias Adolfsson!
Inktober Day 17 is Storm, and the pattern of deep dark clouds seems to be a warning of what’s to come! This pattern is a little more abstract than my others, but I like the textures of the ink washes.
Inktober Day 18 is Trap! I drew some hungry Venus flytraps.
Inktober Day 19 is Dizzy! Here’s a pattern of many different drinks and some dizzying anaglyphs.
Inktober Day 20 is Coral! There are so many beautiful variations of coral, and so many different colors. I wanted a more unified color palette, so I gave everything a pink tone.
Inktober Day 21 is sleep, something I cherish dearly. I wanted to make a sweet children’s print of sleeping woodland animals.
Inktober Day 22 is Chef, so I drew the ingredients to make a yummy fall chicken pot pie. You can be the chef!
Inktober Day 23 is Rip, or RIP… I decided the latter. I created a scallop repeat of tombstones! I also referenced SpongeBob, because Squidward crying over his hopes and dreams rather than a dead family member is iconic.
Inktober Day 24 is Dig! It would be exciting to dig these bones up!
Inktober Day 25 is Buddy, so I drew my best buddy of 18 years! This pattern is of my old cat Mungo, who spends his time sleeping on my feet while I make these patterns.
Inktober Day 26 is Hide. Can you see the ants hiding under the foliage?
Inktober Day 27 is Music! I made this pattern of string instruments because strings make my favorite music.
Inktober Day 28 is Float! This pattern is as summery as it gets, and makes me want to go swimming even though it’s 50 degrees outside!
Inktober Day 29 is Shoes! Here are some shoes that will be worn to death, their looks aren’t important.
Inktober Day 30 is Ominous… and I think there’s something looking at you from the dark.
Inktober Day 31 is Crawl, and I wanted to do a creepy crawly design in honor of it being the creepiest day of the year! I created this cryptid crawl pattern, featuring some of America’s most favorite cryptids!
Thank you for following my Inktober 2020 progress! All of these designs are available for purchase on lots of different merchandise at the stores below! You can even buy fabric of the patterns. Check out my stores here:
